I did not throw down the challenge

I have spent the last two weeks at doctors offices and and kind of keeping my head straight so as not to get too overwhelmed with the idea of surgery. After visits with 3 doctors, I have 3 different plans of action, and MY doc finally gets back into town tomorrow.

So I have kept myself busy and whatnot. Reading the blogs of my friends and finishing up wedding details and just keeping busy -- so as not to perseverate.

Well, I know better than to challenge the Gods with a "things can't get any worse statement," so the words have not left my lips. They decided, however, to show me how much worse anyway.

Saturday night, my mom had a heart attack. We do not know how bad, or any other details, because after an entire day in the ER on Sunday, she still has not seen the cardiologist. She is in the hospital now and waiting, and waiting, and waiting. There should be an angiogram today, and hopefully we will have some answers.

In the meantime, she will miss my shower on Saturday and she is VERY upset about that. Her absence will definitely be felt. Adding insult to injury, I am not sure I can travel right now to go to her. I am waiting to talk to the doctor tomorrow on my end, so I can make informed decisions.

Keep us in your thoughts and prayers, please.

It is so unfair you have to go through all of this, especially at a time when you should be thinking only happy thoughts. I hope you and your mother are soon all okay. Does your mom live in the area? Can you bring some of the shower to her? And don't get me started about doctors and hospitals...I have had enough. It is cruel the way health care is in this country.

I will be thinking of you and remember, the offer stands. If you need to talk, vent or scream and need to do it to someone who won't judge, I am here for you. We can even meet IRL if you need it! Take care and keep us updated.

When it rains it pours. B( I'm sorry to hear about your mom and about your own medical issues. Timely things aren't they? I am just keeping you in my thoughts and hoping for quick recoveries.

Sorry about the misfortune all at once. It sounds like you've done all the right things with the doctors, though.

I hope you and your mom get through everything witha clean bill of health.
